Job description : As head of the structural engineering department you are responsible for managing a group of structural draughtsman and engineers. This will be a split role encompassing HR responsibilities and project management. Duties in this position include: - Supervise and plan the day to day work of the structural engineering department in an efficient manner. - Lead the department in developing and maintaining standards. - Leading a team of engineers and draughtsman to carry out structural analysis and design of buildings as per Indian design codes. - Modeling and analysis of building structures using the latest design software. - Coordinate and collaborate with clients in terms of design and engineering. - Assist in training and development of junior members of the design team. - Check CAD drawings in 2D and 3D. - Participate in project meetings and provide technical support. - Control project budget. - Office procedures - increase proficiency and general discipline. - Staff appraisals and coaching. - HR responsibilities, time sheet management, absence management, holiday & sickness, disciplinary and grievance.
Desired candidate profile : - B-tech or M-tech in civil / structural engineering. - Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of structural engineering. - Proven experience as manager leading a structural engineering team. - Proven experience in design of building structures according to IS codes. - Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete design. - In depth understanding of seismic design of building structures. - Experience with structural analysis and design software such as Staad Pro and Etabs. - Experience with drafting software such as AutoCAD and Revit Structure - A sound understanding of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet calculations. - Good knowledge of structural drafting processes and procedures. - Exposure working on international building projects is preferred. - Knowledge and experience in precast and prestressed concrete design is preferred. - Excellent use of English language for written and verbal communications. - Pro active, ambitious and career driven. - Good knowledge of HR and office management.
